A wonderful night of Eagles music by the tribute band The Desperado Band raised around £2200 at Church on the Heath in Fleet. It was a wonderful night of music, and as well as ticket sales raising funds, there was a sponsored head-shaving, with a second head spontaneously joining in to up the donations! Around 100 people enjoyed the night and contributed to the amazing total.
Church members have also raised a further £500 through a sponsored cycle ride. The money has gone towards new play equipment for Casa Valentin, and a team from the church have also given their time to go over to Romania to help repair the area and build the play equipment in place.
A huge thank you from the charity to the band, the organisers, and everyone involved in this wonderful effort.

If you shop on Amazon, you can now donate to charity as you shop, for each eligible purchase made through AmazonSmile, Amazon makes a donation to your chosen charity. If you purchase products which are labelled 'Eligible for smile.amazon.co.uk' and set us as your chosen charity, we will receive a small donation from Amazon, so if you're shopping there anyway, please use the link above and we will get extra funds at no extra cost to you. It's not a huge amount (0.5% pre-VAT), and we're not suggesting you consume more, or shop there rather than from a local retailer, but if you would have spent the money anyway at Amazon, then doing it from AmazonSmile instead will support The Sunflower Fellowship Romania, just a little bit!

Our Coffee Mornings continue to provide a time of fellowship for those who attend, whilst attracting a small but regular income for the charity each month. In June we will be holding our annual Summer Romania Days, designed to have a wider appeal with all kinds of gifts on sale. The proceeds will, of course, go towards the upkeep of Casa Valentin in Cataloi, Romania. Over 300 shoe boxes covered in bright Christmas wrapping paper and containing exciting toys, sweets, stationery, toiletries etc were sent to Romania last year. There were enough of them for each child aged 3-14 living in Cataloi and its sister village of Frecatei. For most of these children, this was their only present this Christmas. Our thanks go to all who contrubuted to this distribution.
