About Us

The Sunflower Fellowship supports the work at Casa Valentin, in Cataloi (near Tulcea), providing disadvantaged children from the local villages with opportunities to learn and grow socially, spiritually & emotionally.

Educational Support (Social Programme)

We support a dedicated team who provide after school tutoring to help disadvantaged children from the village of Cataloi with their school work, focusing on subjects where they need extra help, and foster a love for learning.

The goal is to close the educational gap and equip children with the tools they need to succeed in school and beyond.  In addition, a nutritious meal is provided each day before the tutoring to enable the children to focus on their education.

These children are nominated by the teachers at the local primary school.

Summer Holiday Clubs

The original purpose of Casa Valentin was to provide week-long holiday clubs for disadvantaged children who would not otherwise get an opportunity to have a holiday.

We continue to provide a week long holiday club for up to 10 groups, who come from across eastern Romania, during the summer.

Christian Outreach in the Community

Casa Valentin is at the centre of the community in the village of Cataloi, near Tulcea.  Cataloi is one of 4 villages in the Frecăței province of eastern Romania.

Every month an event is held at Casa Valentin for local children from the 4 villages where they learn about the love of Jesus.  In the run up to Christmas & Easter, classes from the local primary school are invited to Casa Valentin to learn about Jesus and these important Christian festivals.
